Description

1924 Buffalo Nickel in Fair Collectible Condition, See Photos. The 1924 Buffalo Nickel is a classic piece of American coinage, admired for its bold design and connection to the nation’s frontier heritage. Designed by renowned sculptor James Earle Fraser, the coin features a detailed portrait of a Native American on the obverse and a powerful American bison on the reverse. Struck in an alloy of 75% copper and 25% nickel, the 1924 issue was minted in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco, with the San Francisco mintage being the lowest and most sought after by collectors. As with other coins in the series, heavy circulation often led to significant wear, particularly on the date and high-relief features. Despite this, well-preserved examples of the 1924 Buffalo Nickel remain popular among numismatists for their historical significance and artistic merit, representing a proud chapter in early 20th-century U.S. coinage.
