1981 Andre Dawson Baseball Card Topps No 125 - Excellent condition, see photos. Andre Dawson, famously nicknamed "The Hawk," was one of the most dynamic all-around players of his era, spanning a 21-season career from 1976 to 1996. He is one of only eight players in Major League history to achieve at least 300 home runs and 300 stolen bases, finishing his career with 438 homers and 314 steals. Dawson began his career with the Montreal Expos, where he won the 1977 NL Rookie of the Year award and six consecutive Gold Gloves (1980–1985) despite playing on punishing artificial turf that led to 12 knee surgeries. In 1987, after joining the Chicago Cubs on a famously modest "blank contract," he delivered a legendary season, leading the league with 49 home runs and 137 RBIs to become the first player from a last-place team to be named NL MVP. Dawson was an eight-time All-Star and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010.
