Description

1994 Skybox Greg Kite Basketball Orlando Magic No 381 - Near mint condition, see photos. Gregory "Greg" Kite was a 6'11" center known for his physical, defensive-minded play during a 12-season NBA career that spanned from 1983 to 1995. Selected 21st overall by the Boston Celtics in the 1983 draft, Kite served as a backup center on a team loaded with Hall of Famers, winning two NBA championships (1984 and 1986). While not a scorer, he was valued as a "banger" and a hard worker, tasked with rebounding and defending opposing centers, famously matching up against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1987 NBA Finals. After his time in Boston, he played for several other teams, including the Clippers, Hornets, and Kings, before finding a starting role with the expansion Orlando Magic. In the 1990-91 season with Orlando, he started all 82 games and averaged career highs of 7.2 rebounds and 1.0 block per game, later serving as a backup to Shaquille O'Neal. Kite finished his career with stints for the Knicks and Pacers, averaging 2.5 points and 3.8 rebounds over 680 career games.
