Andre Tippett is widely regarded as one of the most dominant outside linebackers of his era and a cornerstone of the New England Patriots franchise. Playing his entire 11-season NFL career (1982-1993) with the Patriots, Tippett was a formidable pass-rushing specialist who set the standard for the position. His explosive power and relentless motor led to five consecutive Pro Bowl selections (1984-1988), two First-team All-Pro honors, and being named the 1985 AFC Defensive Player of the Year. He was a leader on the 1985 team that reached Super Bowl XX and still holds the Patriots' all-time record with 100 career sacks. For his contributions to the game, he was named to the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
