Antonio McDyess NBA Basketball Card 2000 Fleer No 5 in Excellent Mint condition, see photos. Antonio McDyess was one of the most explosive and resilient power forwards of his era, leaving behind a 16-year NBA legacy defined by both early-career brilliance and a masterful reinvention of his game. Selected second overall in the 1995 NBA Draft out of the University of Alabama, "Dice" quickly electrified fans with his jaw-dropping leaping ability, thunderous dunks, and fierce rebounding. At his peak with the Denver Nuggets, he was a dominant force, highlighted by an All-NBA Third Team nod in 1999, a gold medal with Team USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and an NBA All-Star selection in 2001 after averaging 20.8 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Tragically, a severe patellar tendon rupture early in the 2001–02 season stripped away much of his signature athleticism and forced him to miss significant time. Rather than letting the injury end his career, McDyess adapted, transforming himself from a high-flying aerial threat into a highly efficient, high-IQ veteran relying on a lethal mid-range jumper and tough defense. This second act made him an indispensable sixth man for the contending Detroit Pistons—whom he helped lead to the 2005 NBA Finals—before he wrapped up his career as a dependable anchor for the San Antonio Spurs, retiring in 2011 with over 12,000 points, 7,000 rebounds, and the universal respect of his peers.
