Bob Feller, known famously as "Rapid Robert" and the "Heater from Van Meter," is widely considered the greatest pitcher in Cleveland baseball history and one of the most dominant hurlers to ever take the mound. A first-ballot Hall of Famer (1962), Feller debuted for the Cleveland Indians at just 17 years old in 1936, striking out 15 batters in his first start and setting an American League record with 17 strikeouts in a single game later that rookie season. Over an 18-season career spent entirely in Cleveland, he amassed 266 wins, 2,581 strikeouts, and a 3.25 ERA. He was a Triple Crown winner in 1940 and pitched three no-hitters, including the only Opening Day no-hitter in MLB history.
