Dragon Fly Painting Art Signed by Artist, M. Neville - Framed in Good Condition, minor wear on frame See Photos - Measures 33" W x 27" H ... This dynamic mixed-media piece offers a vibrant, abstract interpretation of Eastern motifs, blending traditional symbolism with a modern, energetic execution. Centered around a towering architectural structure—possibly a stylized pagoda—the composition is guarded by a winding, colorful imperial dragon that snakes through the upper section of the work. The artist employs a "Dragon Fly" concept not through the insect, but through the soaring, ethereal movement of the dragon amidst a chaotic yet balanced explosion of watercolor washes and rhythmic, scribbled line work. A prominent Yin and Yang symbol rests along a geometric path that cuts diagonally across the frame, emphasizing themes of balance and cosmic order.

The palette is a bold mix of magenta, saffron, and turquoise, layered with splatters and fine-line detailing that give the artwork a sense of constant motion. In the lower-left corner, the piece features traditional Chinese calligraphy (氣韻生動 - qì yùn shēng dòng), which translates to "spirit resonance" or "lifelike vitality," one of the six canons of Chinese painting. This inclusion suggests that the artist is intentionally channeling the life force of their subject through this expressive, multi-layered technique. Framed in an elegant bronze-toned molding, this signed work serves as a high-energy conversation piece that bridges the gap between ancient philosophy and contemporary abstract art.
