Flowers from the Holy Land 1950s Framed Pressed Flower Art - Good condition, see photos - Measures 10" x 8" and 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" ... These items were sold as souvenirs to pilgrims and tourists in Jerusalem. Bringing home actual, pressed flora from sacred sites was a meaningful way to commemorate a journey. This tradition was popular from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century. They were often sold as full albums or books (sometimes with covers made of olive wood) or as individual framed pictures, like this one.
