Mickey Lolich Baseball Card 1976 Topps No. 3 - Excellent Near Mint Condition, See Photos ... Mickey Lolich was a durable and formidable left-handed pitcher who spent the majority of his 16-year Major League Baseball career with the Detroit Tigers. Best known for his heroic performance in the 1968 World Series, Lolich won three complete games, including the decisive Game 7, to lead the Tigers to a championship over the St. Louis Cardinals and earn himself the World Series MVP award. A three-time All-Star, Lolich was a workhorse on the mound, consistently logging a high number of innings and strikeouts. In his standout 1971 season, he led the American League in both wins with 25 and strikeouts with 308. Over his career, which spanned from 1963 to 1979 and also included brief stints with the New York Mets and San Diego Padres, Lolich compiled a 217-191 record with a 3.44 ERA and 2,832 strikeouts. Upon his retirement, he held the record for the most career strikeouts by a left-handed pitcher in MLB history.
