Description

Mother Earth Art Mixed Media Painting Original Signed by Artist M. Neville in Excellent Condition, Framed 10"H x 8.5"W watercolor texture ... Original 100% hand painted, artist signed painting. This "Mother Earth" Mixed Media Painting is a vibrant, contemporary expression of the divine feminine and the nurturing power of nature. Created using a layered collage and painting technique, the work features a central female figure—symbolizing Gaia or Mother Earth—rendered with an ethereal, white-painted face and closed eyes, suggesting a state of deep meditation or peace. Her striking, voluminous gold-leaf hair serves as a focal point, symbolizing the radiance and abundance of the sun. The composition is built upon a rich palette of lapis blue, emerald green, and deep charcoal, with vertical textured lines in the background that evoke the feeling of rain, vines, or the deep roots of the earth. The use of torn paper textures throughout the blue garment and landscape adds a tactile, three-dimensional quality, making the piece feel as organic and complex as the environment it represents.

Artist, M. Neville is a native of W. Virginia, was educated at W. Virginia University and School of Design. She worked as a commercial artist in graphic design, fashion and general illustration; she has held positions as advertising manager and art instructor giving workshops and teaching privately. Artist exhibited widely in solo and juried exhibitions on local, state, regional and national levels receiving numerous awards. Her paintings are often watercolor and oil private and public collections including Tennessee State Museum and Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage Museum in Tennessee.
