Description

Roberto Alomar Baseball Card 1994 Upper Deck No. 455 - Near Mint Condition, See Photo ... Roberto Alomar is widely considered one of the most complete second basemen in the history of Major League Baseball, blending elite defense with a potent switch-hitting bat. Over a 17-season career (1988–2004), he earned 12 consecutive All-Star selections and established a record for his position with 10 Gold Glove Awards. Alomar’s most iconic years came with the Toronto Blue Jays, where his clutch hitting—including a legendary home run off Dennis Eckersley in the 1992 ALCS—helped propel the franchise to back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993. A career .300 hitter with 2,724 hits and 474 stolen bases, he was a dynamic force for the San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, and Cleveland Indians as well. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011; however, his post-career legacy has been significantly impacted by his 2021 placement on MLB's permanently ineligible list following an investigation into sexual misconduct.
