Silver Coin 1977 Gb Queen Elizabeth Jubilee in Condition Very Good, See Photos. The 1977 Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Crown is one of the most recognizable commemorative coins in British history, issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the Queen’s accession. The obverse features a striking equestrian portrait by Arnold Machin, depicting Her Majesty in her Colonel-in-Chief uniform of the Grenadier Guards—a design that pays homage to her 1953 Coronation crown. The reverse showcases the Ampulla and Anointing Spoon of the Crown Jewels, framed by an intricate floral garland. While the majority of the 37 million coins minted were struck in cupro-nickel for general circulation, a limited Sterling Silver Proof edition (distinguishable by its thinner 2.89mm profile and mirrored finish) was produced for collectors.
