Right-handed pitcher Steve Farr had a successful 11-season career in Major League Baseball, playing from 1984 to 1994. He was primarily known as a closer and played for several teams, including the Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox. Farr was a member of the 1985 World Series champion Kansas City Royals. Over his career, he compiled a record of 48 wins and 45 losses, with a 3.25 earned run average, 668 strikeouts, and 132 saves in 509 games pitched. Some of his best seasons came with the Yankees, where he recorded a career-high 30 saves in 1992 and had an impressive 1.56 ERA. He began his professional journey after being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1976 and spent seven seasons in their farm system before making his major league debut with the Cleveland Indians.
