🔍 Identifying Marks & History:
Date Confirmed: 1908–1921. The green backstamp featuring a crown above N & C. / NAGOYA / NIPPON is the definitive marker. The use of "Nippon" (the Japanese name for the country) was mandated for exports to the U.S. during the period of 1891 to 1921.
The Maker: The "N & C" mark belongs to Nagoya Seito Sho (Nagoya China Company), established in 1908. Founded by a former Noritake executive, the company produced high-quality wares, making these pieces a beautiful representation of Japan's early export porcelain industry and often compared to the fine quality of Noritake of the same era.
✨ Design & Condition:
The plates showcase bright, elegant white porcelain with a sophisticated, repeating geometric border. Perfect for use as bread & butter plates, side dishes, or dessert service. A striking addition to any mixed set of vintage dinnerware or a unique piece for the dedicated Nippon collector.
