Bob Walk is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who enjoyed a 14-season career with the Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Known for his distinctive "Whirlybird" pitching motion, Walk is perhaps most famous for winning Game 1 of the 1980 World Series as a rookie with the Phillies. He achieved an All-Star selection in 1988 while with the Pirates and was a key contributor to their three consecutive National League East division titles from 1990 to 1992. After retiring in 1993, Walk transitioned to broadcasting and currently serves as a color commentator for the Pirates on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. He also occasionally provides analysis for MLB on FOX and Peacock's MLB Sunday Leadoff.
