Darrin Fletcher was a durable and respected catcher in Major League Baseball for 14 seasons, from 1989 to 2002. He began his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and also played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos, and Toronto Blue Jays. Fletcher was known for his solid defensive skills behind the plate and his ability to handle a pitching staff. Offensively, he was a consistent left-handed hitter who provided occasional power. His best offensive season came in 2000 with the Blue Jays when he hit .320 with 20 home runs and 98 RBIs. Over his career, Fletcher was named to the National League All-Star team in 1994 as a member of the Montreal Expos. He finished his career with a .269 batting average, 1,048 hits, and 124 home runs.
