Dave Bing was a dynamic and gifted point guard who left an indelible mark on the NBA during his 12 seasons. Drafted second overall in 1966 by the Detroit Pistons, Bing quickly established himself as a premier scorer and playmaker, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 1967. His exceptional offensive capabilities were highlighted in the 1967-68 season when he led the league in scoring. A seven-time NBA All-Star, Bing showcased a rare blend of scoring prowess and passing skills for a point guard of his era, earning All-NBA First Team honors twice. His dedication and impact on the Pistons franchise were recognized with the retirement of his #21 jersey. Beyond his individual accolades, including the 1976 All-Star Game MVP award, Bing's consistent high-level performance solidified his place as one of the NBA's elite guards and a member of both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the NBA's 50th and 75th Anniversary All-Time Teams.
