After a stellar college career at Pepperdine University, where he was a two-time WCC Player of the Year, the 6'6" Seattle native was selected 17th overall in the 1992 NBA draft. Over a 15-year professional playing career, Christie suited up for seven franchises—including impactful scoring stretches with the Toronto Raptors—but found his greatest success as the defensive anchor and glue guy for the iconic, early 2000s Sacramento Kings. A masterful perimeter stopper with lightning-fast hands, he earned NBA All-Defensive honors in four consecutive seasons with the Kings, including a First Team selection in 2003, and consistently ranked among the league leaders in steals.
