Right-handed pitcher Pete Vuckovich carved out a memorable 11-season career in Major League Baseball, known for his intimidating presence on the mound and his peak performance in the early 1980s. Vuckovich played for the Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, and most notably, the Milwaukee Brewers between 1975 and 1986. His career culminated in 1982 when he earned the American League Cy Young Award after posting an 18-6 record with a 3.34 ERA, leading the Brewers to a World Series appearance. A fierce competitor, Vuckovich was also known for his role as the fictional slugger Clu Haywood in the popular baseball film Major League. Over his career, he compiled a 93-69 record with a 3.66 ERA and 882 strikeouts.
