Dave Henderson, affectionately known as "Hendu," was an outfielder in Major League Baseball for 14 seasons, from 1981 to 1994. He played for the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, and Kansas City Royals. Over his career, Henderson compiled a .258 batting average, with 1,324 hits, 197 home runs, and 708 runs batted in. He was a key member of four teams that reached the World Series, winning a championship with the Oakland Athletics in 1989. Henderson was also selected as an All-Star in 1991. He is perhaps best remembered for his clutch performance in the 1986 American League Championship Series for the Red Sox, where his dramatic home run in Game 5 helped lead to a Boston victory. After his playing career, Henderson remained a beloved figure in the baseball community until his passing in 2015.
